The plain-language version
You can calculate without supplying a name or email. Calculator values are handled by code running in your browser. Optional saved results remain in that browser. The site loads fonts from Google and must still use normal hosting infrastructure to deliver pages.
Calculator inputs
Calculator values are processed in your browser. The site’s calculator code does not send ages, income, balances, contributions, spending, benefit estimates or other calculator inputs to a Coast FIRE Calculator database.
Browser storage
If you choose a save feature, supported calculators store a result in localStorage on your device. The theme control also stores a light or dark preference. Browser storage is tied to this site and remains until you clear it, remove the saved result, or use browser controls that delete site data.
Questions and contact drafts
The contact form prepares text on your device. When no inbox is configured, it downloads a text draft and does not submit it. When an inbox is configured, it opens your email application; the message is sent only if you send it. Email providers then process the message under their own policies. Questions are not published automatically.
Ordinary website requests
Loading any website normally exposes technical request information—such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time—to the hosting and network providers needed to deliver it. Coast FIRE Calculator does not currently include an advertising pixel or a product analytics script in the site code.
Third-party resources and links
Pages request Inter and Outfit font files from Google Fonts. That request is made to Google and may include ordinary connection information. External research and government links open sites with their own privacy practices. Review those policies before sharing information there.
Your choices
You can use the calculators without creating an account. You can block external fonts, clear this site’s localStorage in browser settings, avoid saving results, and prepare feedback without sending it. Do not include account numbers, addresses or sensitive identifying information in a feedback message.
Policy changes
This page will be updated if the site adds an account system, server-submitted form, analytics service, advertising technology or another material data practice. The effective date above shows the latest published version.

Use Contact and feedback to prepare a privacy question. If the page says delivery is unavailable, the downloaded draft has not been sent to Coast FIRE Calculator.
